Clotine Bell, Beverly Hospital’s Volunteer Coordinator, was nominated by Jose Ornelas, Vice Principal of Applied Technology Center (ATC), to be the keynote speaker at their 2019 Commencement ceremony (Thursday, June 13, 2019).
Bell captivated the audience with her speech called, “Never Give Up on Your Dream.” Mr. Gabriel Solorio, Health Science Facilitator at ATC, complimented her via email that night. “I just wanted to email you tonight and tell you how AMAZING your speech was! I mean this from the bottom of my heart when I say that it was, hands down, the best speech I’ve seen at the ATC graduation ceremony. Thank you so much for being willing to be our keynote speaker this year. It means the world to me and ATC…thank you!,”Solorio said. He called her the next day to thank her again and said that both the principal and vice principal of ATC asked, “Do you think she can come back next year?”

An excerpt from Bell’s speech:
“Do not be afraid to be fearless and to fail, if you don’t fail [then it] means you are not trying. Tony Robbins once said, “There is no such thing as failure, there are only results.” Failure isn’t when you fall down. It’s when you refuse to get back up. You must realize that everything you do is a success or a learning experience. Learn from every mistake and push forward.
