Diabetes Education

The Diabetes Wellness Hour

Education is the most important tool in diabetes care. For people with diabetes or who are at risk for diabetes, gaining the knowledge and skills needed to modify behavior and successfully self-manage the disease and its conditions could make a difference in their lives. The Beverly Hospital Diabetes Center offers monthly diabetes lectures that are free and open to the community.

To register for a diabetes lecture, call (800) 618-6664.

The “Sweet Success” Program

The Beverly Hospital Diabetes Center offers the “Sweet Success” program for pregnant women who have diabetes or develop gestational diabetes during their pregnancy. The program is part of the California Diabetes and Prevention Program, which seeks to improve pregnancy outcomes, reduce fetal deaths, and decrease neonatal and maternal complications due to diabetes.

  • A registered dietitian specializing in prenatal health and diabetes works closely with each mom to set up goals and meal plans.
  • A diabetes educator provides training in blood sugar monitoring during pregnancy.
