Stephen Y. Lee, MD, started his Montebello obstetrics-gynecology (OB-GYN) practice in 1980 and has been a key member of Beverly Hospital’s medical staff for over 40 years.
Born in Taiwan, Dr. Lee graduated from Kaohsiung Medical School and conducted his OB-GYN residencies at Mackay Memorial Hospital in Taiwan from 1973 to 1975 and at Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix from 1975 to 1979. With a career that spans more than four decades, Dr. Lee has delivered more than 14,000 babies into the world. Currently, Dr. Lee delivers babies exclusively at Beverly Hospital. Having dedicated his life to bringing life into the world, he is an expert at helping moms and babies have a positive and safe birthing experience. In addition to his medical practice, he is recognized by multiple professional institutes, including the American Medical Association, California Medical Association, Los Angeles Medical Association, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Taiwanese American Medical Association and Southern California Taiwanese Medical Association.

Originally beginning as an 18-bed maternity cottage, Beverly Hospital has been dedicated to improving the quality of life through health education, disease prevention, and state-of-the-art illness and injury treatment since 1949. Beverly now houses 18 brand-new, private maternity suites and a 10-bed level 2 neonatal intensive care unit, and its clinical team provides comprehensive education and consultation. Additionally, Beverly Hospital is designated as a Baby-Friendly hospital, which means it provides an optimal level of care for infant feeding and mother/baby bonding. Beverly Hospital strives to bring the best care to moms from the moment they go on a maternity tour of our hospital to the time they buckle up their newborns into a car seat for the first journey home.
